Many pregnant or parenting moms in our communities face difficulties in welcoming new life or caring for their young children.
The goal of Walking with Moms in Need is that any mom can turn to her local Catholic church to be connected to the help she needs.
This nationwide movement is made up of people like YOU. Anyone can volunteer to start Walking with Moms in Need in their local parish with the approval of their pastor and in coordination with their local diocese.
Follow the steps below to help your parish get started!
GET STARTED

1. LEARN MORE
Learn more about the vision, mission, and impact of Walking with Moms in Need through inspirational stories from ministry leaders, moms, and volunteers. Discover how lives are transformed in these brief videos.

2. EXPLORE PARISH RESOURCES
As part of Walking with Moms in Need, parishes complete a simple inventory of the resources currently available in their local area, identify gaps, and plan and implement a parish response based on their findings.
Many resources are provided to help guide you and your parish through this process as you work to better serve pregnant women in need.
Take some time to browse and familiarize yourself with these resources.

If you would like a guided tour of the resources, check out our Introductory Webinar.
In this webinar, USCCB staff explain the vision and inspiration for Walking with Moms in Need. Presenters provide an overview of the website and materials—including the full parish action guide—and explain how, with your help, your parish can serve pregnant and parenting moms in your community!
3. CONNECT WITH YOUR DIOCESE
While Walking with Moms in Need is a nationwide initiative, it is implemented at the local diocesan and parish level. Your local diocese is going to have the most up-to-date information on efforts in your area. The best way to find out more information about your diocese's participation—or other parishes in your area—is to reach out to your diocese directly.
Use this listing of Diocesan Pro-Life Offices to help you get in touch. If your diocese does not have a dedicated pro-life director, consider reaching out to diocesan staff in a social ministry or communications office.

If your parish or diocese doesn't yet have a Walking with Moms in Need presence, YOU can help bring it to your local area. Talk to your pastor and share your interest in bringing Walking with Moms in Need to your parish. Use the short videos below and follow the steps outlined in the Parish Action Guide to get started!
